Webex Interact SMS integration allows you to send automated SMS notifications directly from the EasyTaxiOffice platform using your Webex Interact account.

This feature enables streamlined communication with your customers by automating booking confirmations, status updates, and more.

Prerequisites

To get started, log in or register for a Webex Interact account at https://webexinteract.com.

Before you begin the integration, ensure you have the following:

  • A valid Webex Interact account (either existing or newly registered and activated)

  • Sufficient credit purchased in your Webex Interact account to enable SMS sending

  • An active API Key from your Webex Interact admin panel

  • A registered Sender Name that matches the name you intend to use in EasyTaxiOffice

How to Obtain Your Webex Interact API Key and Sender Name

Follow these steps from the official Webex Interact API Authentication documentation:

Create an API Key

  1. Log into your Webex Interact Admin Panel.

  2. Go to the Developers section.

  3. Click on API projects and then click Create API project.

  4. Assign a recognizable name for the API project.

  5. When creating the API project, make sure the SMS channel is selected in the Scope section, then click Create button.

  6. Copy and store the API Key securely. You will need it during the integration setup in EasyTaxiOffice.

Register a Sender Name

  1. Navigate to Channel Setup > SMS > Senders tab in the Admin Panel. For detailed instructions, refer to the official Webex Interact Sender Name documentation.

  2. Click Create sender.

  3. Enter your desired Sender Name.

  4. Submit the form and wait for approval if required.

  5. Ensure the Sender Name is exactly the same as what you will input in EasyTaxiOffice. Incorrect Sender Name entries may result in undelivered messages.

Sender Name and Phone Number Requirements

When using Webex Interact for SMS, it's important to understand how sender identification works, especially if you expect customers to reply to messages.

Alphanumeric Sender Names (e.g., Company Name)

  • Webex allows SMS messages to be sent using a registered alphanumeric sender name (like your brand or business name).
  • Important: These messages are one-way only — customers will not be able to reply to them.
  • If you use a sender name that hasn’t been registered and approved by Webex, your SMS will be blocked by the network and will not be delivered, although you will still be charged.

Numeric Sender Names (e.g., Mobile or Long Numbers)

  • To send messages using a phone number and receive replies, the number must be registered with Webex.
  • If you attempt to send SMS from an unregistered number, delivery will fail — even if the message appears to send successfully in Webex's test interface.

Recommendations

  • If two-way communication is required (i.e., receiving customer replies), you must:
    • Register your mobile number with Webex, or
    • Purchase a dedicated long number from Webex Interact that supports incoming SMS.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Invalid API Key: Double-check that the key is copied correctly without extra spaces.

  • Sender Name Mismatch: Ensure the Sender Name exactly matches what is configured in Webex Interact. Mismatches may result in message delivery failures.

  • Delivery Issues: Ensure your Webex Interact account has active credit and contact support if problems persist.

  • Still Having Issues?: Refer to the Webex Interact documentation or contact their support for help.
