The Admin can control all incoming bookings, add new bookings, assign jobs and track drivers’ position in real-time.
Dispatch Panel
There are three main tabs in the Dispatch Panel.
1) Add New Booking Form (yellow overlay)
In this tab the admin can add an upcoming job.
2) Booking List (pink overlay)
In this tab the admin sees new bookings coming in and controls, edits and assigns them to the driver.
3) The Map (blue overlay)
The map allows the admin to locate drivers in real time and is helpful when allocating nearby jobs.
Adjusting the tabs
The dispatch screen is fully customizable.
You decide which tab is most important for you at the moment and can change their size with a simple “click and hold to drag” motion.
Route Finding in Dispatch
Watch how route finding works directly in the Dispatch Panel.
When working in the Dispatch Panel, route finding helps the admin quickly understand the journey between the pickup and drop-off locations and make better dispatching decisions. The preview uses Google Maps settings configured in Settings > Google > General to calculate and display the route on the Dispatch map.
How it works
In Add New Booking, EasyTaxiOffice automatically previews the route on the Dispatch map as soon as the booking contains at least a pickup and destination address. The preview also supports waypoint stops, reordering of locations, and outbound / return journeys.
For existing bookings in the Dispatch booking list, the route can be shown on the map manually using Show on map.
Depending on your Google configuration, the system can use Google’s suggested route, the shortest route, the fastest route with traffic, or the fastest route without traffic. It can also avoid highways, tolls, or ferries if those options are enabled.
This helps dispatchers:
- review the expected journey before assigning the job,
- compare the route with nearby active drivers on the Dispatch map,
- check pickup time, ETA, travel time from start, and distance from start in the route popups.
Route finding and driver allocation
Route finding works together with the Map in the Dispatch Panel. The map shows drivers in real time and helps the admin identify which driver is closest or best placed to take the booking. Only drivers using the Driver App, with location sharing enabled and status set to Available or On Break, are visible on the map.
A typical workflow looks like this:
- Open Add New Booking in the Dispatch Panel.
- Enter the pickup, drop-off, and any waypoint locations.
- Let the system preview the route on the map based on your Google route settings.
- Review the map and nearby available drivers.
- Assign the booking to the most suitable driver.
For an existing booking already visible in the Dispatch list, use Show on map to display its route on the Dispatch map.
Important notes
For the most accurate route results, use complete and valid addresses. If enabled in Google settings, the system can use the full written address for directions and require address selection from Google suggestions. This helps reduce routing errors and improves booking accuracy.
Route previews also reflect the current order of stops in the booking form, so if you reorder waypoint locations, the map updates to match the new sequence.
Your route results may vary depending on the selected configuration, especially if you use:
- Fastest (with traffic) for urban areas,
- Shortest for more direct mileage-based routing,
- Avoid tolls / highways / ferries for operational preferences,
When Google Directions returns a full route, the route popups can show pickup time, estimated arrival, travel time from start, and cumulative distance from start.
Best practice
If your dispatchers rely on route accuracy when assigning jobs, make sure your Google settings are reviewed regularly. In busy city operations, Fastest (with traffic) is usually the most practical option. For pricing and operational consistency, it is also recommended to ensure that address suggestions and route settings match the way your business normally works.
If your team reviews existing bookings in Dispatch, encourage dispatchers to use Show on map before assigning the job, especially for longer trips or bookings with waypoint stops.
