Overview

Setting a Minimum Fare Price ensures that you always receive a baseline amount for any job, regardless of the calculated fare. This is useful for short journeys or during promotions where calculated prices might be too low to be profitable.

Purpose of a Minimum Fare

A Minimum Fare acts as a price floor. If a customer's fare—based on your pricing configuration—calculates below this amount, the minimum fare is used instead.

Example Scenario

If your fare per mile and per minute would total £4.00 for a short trip, but you set a minimum fare of £6.00, the customer will be charged £6.00 instead.

How It Works

  • The system compares the calculated fare (based on distance, duration, and other pricing rules) with the Minimum Fare.

  • If the calculated fare is lower, the Minimum Fare is applied.

  • If the calculated fare is higher, the standard calculated fare is used.

Setting the Minimum Fare

You can set a Minimum Fare in your Pricing Configuration:

Steps:

  1. Log in to your EasyTaxiOffice Admin Panel.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Pricing.

  3. Look for the section labelled Minimum Fare.

  4. Enter your desired minimum fare amount (e.g., £6.00).

  5. Click Save.

When to Use Minimum Fare

Consider using a minimum fare when:

  • You operate in areas with short-distance jobs.

  • You offer discounts but want to maintain profitability.

  • You want to simplify fare expectations for customers.

Related Settings

  • Per Mile / Per Minute Rates: Used to calculate the fare before applying the minimum fare rule.

  • Distance Modifier: You may override fares based on area-specific settings, but Minimum Fare still applies as a fallback. This can be accessed in Settings > Distance Modifier.
